What Have I Been Up To? Hmmm...

Hi Everyone!
Well, I just thought I would show you a few photos of what I have been up to lately, while I am still recovering at home ..... (yes... STILL cant drive just yet!!)  Anyway these hands just hate to be idle, so I am doing about four projects at the moment.  I know, I know, I should just FINISH some of my many UFO's.... and I would (if I could find them!!) ..ha..ha..  Yes, moving into another house has meant that many carefully packed UFO's, are packed away SO well, that I have yet to find them!! ...lol...
I love knitting - have been doing it since I was about 7 years old!
Anyway, this is my knitting - it is just a scarf (I will probably keep it myself). I really love the bronze/gold colours in the yarn - it doesnt show up in the photo, but it has a bit of glitz in the yarn.  When it is finished I want to hand dye some nice lace, and embellish it with Swarovski crystals in a fringe effect, and then I add it to the bottom of the each end of the scarf, just to BLING it up a bit!!  (I just LOVE a bit of "bling")!!  I have done this before on a lovely soft grey scarf.
Then I have this little stitchery that I work on while I am sitting in front of tv at night.  I hate just "sitting", I really like to have some stitchery or embroidery to work on, or even just knitting.
I might use this little stitchery on a pocket of a tote bag or something as a Christmas gift to one of the ladies in my quilting group Golden Gully Quilters, as we all share gifts (Kris Kringle style).
Cute Little Stitchery!
Then, I have started putting these pretty little flannalette squares together as a little scrappy quilt for my new grandchild, due next March.  I wont do the border or backing until I find out whether my DD2 is having a boy or a girl, as she and her hubbie want to find out - which apparently you can do at week 19, which is only about 3 weeks away!

Now, this Layer Cake is called "Girlie Girl" by Cheri Strole and I saw a great tutorial on the Missouri Star Quilt Co (they have FAB tutorials for pre-cuts!) and this looked quite easy and quick, so I started this yesterday, quite late in the day, and it is coming together really quickly!

I will show you more photos as it gets closer to being finished.
It's just straight sewing - Sew Easy!
Chain piecing makes it sew quick!
I have 2 of these Layer Cakes, so I want to make one for Sugarplum and one for Ladybird, and then I also have 2 Charm Packs of the same fabric, so I might make a little quilt for Cutie as well.
So, what are you up to with your quilting and craft work?  Let me know, as I love to hear from you all, and find out what you are doing.
Well, I must get back to my sewing!!  So, bye for now!
Hugs n Blessings from Sue xx

  1. You may not be getting out as much as you would like still, but you are really making the most of your time. You've just shown us some lovely work, thanks.

  2. You are truly blessed having so many talents for handwork. I love quilts, linens and use them daily. I do not quilt, but still enjoy looking at others work. I never learned how to knit either. I have done a lot of crewel embroidery and needlepoint tho. Now, my eyes won't allow that type work. Trust your health issues will soon improve. Take care.
