Cottage Retreat

Hi everyone,
Well I had a lovely time spending 5 days with my good friend from High School days, Judy. She and her hubbie have bought a property in the very pretty area down south near Yankalilla, called Delamere.

Isnt it just so quaint, the place where we stayed? The photo is above. Ha..ha..just joking, that is one of their old sheds on the property - had you going for a while, didnt I? ...lol...

This is the real cottage we stayed in, and it was lovely and cosy and warm (we had very cold wet weather while we were away) - and I do have some more photos to add later, of the lovely views of the countryside.

We had lots of laughs, lots of reminiscing, lots of relaxing and lots of just enjoying each other's company.
I did manage to make a little drawstring bag for my granddaughter, as it is her birthday soon, but also because she is going to a dancing group soon - sooo cute, she will only be 3 - but her mum started at a dancing class at the tender age of 4, and loved it. Her mum went on to win trophies, and still enjoys tap dancing and other forms of dance, so who knows?
Anyway back to my time away. The weather was quite cold and misty, but we had little bursts of sunshine at times, and the home was kept lovely and warm with a slow combustion heater.
Their little home has a beautiful view of the valley, and the hills, which are so green at the moment - it was lovely. Below is the view from my bedroom window and from the kitchen window.
We had a look in the shops in Yankalilla, and of course, I just HAD to buy some lovlies, didn't I? I came home with 10 cents in my wallet!!
So I could honestly say to hubbie "I didn't spend all the money you gave me!" ...lol.... I will put photos of my goodies on this blog soon too.
It is always great to catch up with my good friend Judy, as she feels more like a sister to me than a friend. We have been friends for almost 44 years. We got to know each other when we both joined the Theatre Group at High School, and as they say "the rest is history" - just found we had lots of things etc in common (well at that time, it was boys, boys, boys)!!
But, seriously, over the years we have been there for each other and our friendship is very special, and important to both of us, so I was thrilled when she invited me to see their new home in the beautiful area of Delamere. It is very close to Cape Jervis, where on a clear day you can see across to Kangaroo Island. (It was too rainy the day we went, but I could see the outline of the island).
So I had a lovely time - and if you ever get the chance to go down to that area of South Australia you must go, as it is just beautiful along the coastline, and seeing the huge reservoir
as well as the beautiful hills and valleys.
