Thankyou to you lovely people who left me comments regarding my fall, and to friends and family who showed care to me as well.
I still have a few bruises (not to be confused with the bruised ego that goes with it!) but they are fading. My knee is still very sore, and my left foot is quite sore too, but I am seeing my Orthopod on Thursday, with some special x ray of my knee first so if there happened to be a problem I am hoping it will show up. I am sure everything will be fine.
Our front garden is almost completely finished, the lawn is in now too, and I have taken photos, I just need to do a Post showing them.
They still have to finish of the verge where the footpath is with the black mulch, and I have asked for 2 more standard roses, and then that should be all done.
Thankfully we have had some great rain since the lawn went in early in the week, so that has helped, although we do also have a watering system installed to help keep everything alive and watered. (fingers crossed!!)
As hubbie and I are the first to admit that our thumbs are definately NOT green ...lol... although I do have a Hoya plant that is over 30 years old!!
Hubbie and I started putting up our new Christmas tree tonight. (The old one went into the skip). So we spent a "HUGE" $27 and got a fabulous tree from Big W!! It is a really great tree, and it is 1.8m tall too!
The old one we bought about 20 years ago was about the same size and cost us about $70 way back then!! It is just amazing what you can get at some stores now, things are really reasonable. Hubbie bought a pack of 70 decorations in gold for $9!! My Christmas "theme" is cream and gold, so with this new tree I wanted it to have just mostly gold ornaments, apart from some really special ones that the girls made when they were little.
I was thinking about you people overseas as we put the tree up, as I got so hot I turned the fan on, and we laughed about how we were getting hot putting the tree up, and on the other side of the world you would be putting up your trees in the middle of your Winter, with perhaps even snow around.
We will be having Christmas Dinner at our new house this year, and we will probably have cold meats and salads, as most people have their roast/hot meal for Lunch. We will get some prawns and smoked salmon etc., too, and will have a Pavlova for dessert as well as the traditional Plum Pudding.
Thank heavens this year we are in a house that has proper air conditioning. I have spent the past... well, actually... I have never had a house with reverse cycle ducted air conditioning before - I was about to say I have never had a house with proper air conditioning in it, and our Christmases can be mighty hot at times. We have had evaporative air conditioning, but it is not the same in our very strong heat.
I remember making FIVE (yes... I know, I was ccrraazzyy!!) Gingerbread Houses - 4 were gifts, and one for us on the day, and I was trying to make them all in my tiny little kitchen with the evap. cooling on, and a fan blowing on a couple of dreadfully hot days. I had to tie a cotton scarf around my forehead like tennis players do to help mop my brow, and my glasses kept fogging up!! Ha.. ha.. it's funny to look back on now, but at the time, I remember thinking "Why am I doing this????" But they turned out really well, and I was thrilled to give the four away as presents, and keep one for us to all have, with lots of lollies on it. I wont be making any this year though, I doubt I could stand up for that long just yet.
Well, I must go to sleep. It is my mother-in-law's birthday today (as it is now 1.45am) and she is turning 92! She is amazing, still lives in her own home, still sharp as a tack, still drives (that is a worry tho' ...lol...), goes to church, goes to a Retirees Club, does her own cooking & washing, and most of her own cleaning. She is truly inspirational. So we are going to take her out for lunch today etc., so I'd better try to go to sleep.
I have lots on this week, and I need to get a move on with my Secret Santra projects too!! I wonder who has me?? I love all things Bling, and I love Pink, and pretty things, but I am sure you already know all this from my profile as part of the SS info.
Bye for now everyone, Hugs n Blessings from Sue in Oz xx

Sounds like you found some bargains for your tree - I'd love to see a piccie when it's all done.
